Issue 2009 - 2010 in English and Russian Language: pocket edition of and companion to Niemann's encyclopedic "Price Guide to Orders and Decorations of Germany ". High quality and massive soft cover reference book. Like its big brother, it covers the entire range of German civil, political and military awards, from medals to orders to badges to honorariums to goblets, pins and plaques. Also includes prices for documents, award cases, cartons and issue envelopes. The numbering system is the same in both books. While the number of photographs has been reduced to keep its size manageable, all of the photos are clear, sharp and in full color! Since Neimann's 2008 hardcover Third Edition is regarded by collectors as the "bible" with regard to German awards, this softcover guide can perhaps be thought of as a "Pocket Testament." It is worth noting that it is the author's intention to reissue this guidebook every two years with updated prices; this first edition already shows a number of price changes from some of those listed in the new hardback Third Edition! This guide was assembled by Detlev Niemann, probably the world's most knowledgeable living expert on German medals. It is the largest and most comprehensive portable single volume reference handbook on German awards ever printed. It is a valuable reference that every serious collector can easily take along to militaria shows.
