Their core operations, the leadership and carrying out of recue and evacuation operations, will be presented here.
The vertical transfer of people and material is a fundamental prerequisite of fulfilling this responsibility. This requires the indispensable cooperation between forces with helicopter and with fixed wing aircrafts, all with the aim of providing swift tactical and operational transportation.
Using the example of the "Red Devils" Battle Group of the 261st Parachute Battalion of the "Saarland" 26th Airborne Brigade, with this publication we would like to give the interested reader an understanding of this group?s equipment in the context of an operation exercise at the German Army Combat Training Centre (GefÜbZ H) in Letzlingen, in the Altmark.
